1. #EGYPT: The Department of Foreign Affairs has advised Irish citizens to avoid all non-essential travel to Egypt as violence there escalates. At least 120 people have been killed in the violent clashes so far, including a Sky News cameraman in Cairo.
2. #EUROZONE: The Eurozone’s longest-ever recession has come to an end. Eurostat’s latest figures show that GDP across the Eurozone rose during the second quarter of 2013, compared with the previous quarter.
3. #ARREST: A 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident in which a garda sergeant was hit by a car and driven along with him on the bonnet. The incident happened in Waterford yesterday afternoon as the garda was attending a road crash. He remained on-duty after the incident.
4. #EMERGENCY LANDING: A United Airlines flight from London Heathrow to Washington had to make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport this afternoon.
#5. LEAVING CERT: Almost 56,000 students across the country received their Leaving Cert results today. Some were delighted, like Mark Berney from Gorey Community College, County Wexford who got 9 A1s, others not so much.
