Follow Friday: It's Simon 'supersub' Cox

It’s Friday, so we’re presenting our favourite tweeting member of Trap’s squad.

HE HAS BEEN the Republic of Ireland’s surprise package in attack since making his debut in his Carling Nations Cup 53 weeks ago.

With three goals in just 11 caps Simon Cox is fast becoming a fans’ favourite and, whenever Robbie Keane decides to hang up the green jersey, the West Brom striker looks like he’ll be first in line to play in the more subtle striking role.

When he’s not scoring beautiful goals for Ireland, Cox can be found on the golf course – with a Rupert the Bear impersonator – or chillin’ at home with his dog, Missy.

  • On May 7, Simon was itching to tell the world he was off to Poland... but had to wait.

  • Keith evidently left his Winnie the Pooh gear at home.

  • Each to their own, I guess.

  • Simon likes to label everything, so his team-mates don't nick his stuff.

  • We're not sure if it's an honest mistake or he's just trying to wind up the pedants.

  • Did someone say 'internet watchdog'?

  • Miles away.

  • TheScore only ever wanted two things growing up.

  • Easy there Coxy, someone might give you cash-money for that advertising space.

  • It's a retweet, but it's well worth a gawp at some golden tickets.
