LENT IS UPON us which means giving up sweets, booze and more for a lot of people.

But whether you only picked up a membership this year or you’ve been hitting the weights for ages, chances are you may have developed some bad habits when it comes to the gym and they’re just as important to cut out as a bar of chocolate or a bag of crisps.

With that in mind, we spoke to personal trainer Gareth Barry, who demonstrated the correct way to do four gym staples; battle ropes, press ups, dead lifts and squats.

This week, FLYEfit Swords unveiled a brand new 25,000 sq ft expansion that includes free weights, racks, Olympic lifting and much more. From just €29 per month, FLYEfit is located in Swords Airside Retail Park, beside the Wright Venue. It’s just five minutes from Dublin Airport and The Pavilion Shopping Centre in Swords.
