Jack, Bernard or Philly - who would you vote for as Footballer of the Year?

One thing is for sure – it’s going to be a Dub.

BERNARD BROGAN IS in the running to be named GAA/GPA Footballer of the Year for a second time.

But the 2010 winner will have to beat two of his All-Ireland winning team-mates in order to claim the prize this time around.

An all-Dublin shortlist was revealed this morning with Jack McCaffrey and Philly McMahon nominated for the top prize alongside Brogan, and all three have convincing claims.

Brogan had a vintage championship campaign and scored a massive 6-21, 6-20 of which came from play, as the Dubs lifted Sam again.

Named as The Sunday Game’s Footballer of the Year, McCaffrey is likely to be installed as the bookmakers’ favourite on the back of another outstanding season.

McMahon truly came into his own in the latter stages of the championship when he held Aidan O’Shea scoreless in the drawn All-Ireland semi-final, and then turned on the style with 1-2 of his own in the replay.

He then outscored Colm Cooper in the All-Ireland final but his credentials could be overshadowed by his on-field behaviour including the gouging allegations and possible suspension which still hang over his head.

Who do you think deserves the 2015 Footballer of the Year prize?

Poll Results:

Jack McCaffrey (1544)
Philly McMahon (987)
Bernard Brogan (738)

Philly McMahon has been shortlisted for the footballer of the year award
