JOE CANNING RETURNS to the Galway starting XV for Sunday’s Leinster SHC semi-final against Offaly in Portlaoise.
A shoulder injury forced Canning to watch the Tribe’s quarter-final win over Westmeath from the sidelines but he is fit to take his place in the full-forward line, one of three changes made by manager Anthony Cunningham.
Goalkeeper James Skehill returns between the sticks for his first appearance since dislocating his shoulder in March, while Joseph Cooney comes in at wing-back in place of Paul Gordon.
Meanwhile, Waterford manager Michael Ryan has named four championship debutants in his side to face Clare in Sunday’s Munster SHC semi-final in Thurles.
Goalkeeper Stephen O’Keeffe, corner-back Stephen Daniels and wing-back Philip Mahony start in a revamped Déise defence while Roanmore’s Gavin O’Brien dons the number 15 shirt.
Eoin Kelly (hand) and Stephen Molumphy (shoulder) have both been passed fit to start but there is no place for veteran wing-back Tony Browne.
