6 of last year's U21 team in Galway side for Sunday's league opener against Clare

Anthony Cunningham has unveiled his starting fifteen to take on the Dubs.

SIX OF LAST year’s Galway U21 team have been named to start for next Sunday’s Allianz Division 1 hurling league opener against Clare.

Galway boss Anthony Cunningham has picked his team and given a bunch of youngsters the chance to shine.

Corner-back John Hanbury, the half-forward line of Padraig Brehony, Jonathan Glynn and Dean Higgins, full-forward Jason Flynn and corner-forward Cathal Mannion are all named to start for the game at Pearse Stadium.

There are three changes from the Galway team that won the Walsh Cup final last Saturday night against Dublin as Hanbury, Iarla Tannian and Cathal Mannion come into the team for Johnny Coen, Eanna Burke and Brian Molloy.
