GEORGE NORTH HAS taken his time to get into top try-scoring form for Northampton Saints after joining last summer, but notched his second in two weeks in last night’s 23-9 win over Harlequins in the Premiership.

Conor O’Shea most likely warned his side not to kick loosely to the powerful Welsh wing, but scrum-half Karl Dickson did exactly that with his attempted clearance. North didn’t need a second invitation and swatted off Charlie Walker’s weak tackle attempt to power over.

This effort was the 21-year-old’s fourth try in 12 starts for Jim Mallinder’s side, who have moved to the top of the league with this win. However, victory for Saracens away to Gloucester this afternoon would knock them off that perch. Either way, North’s influence continues to grow.
