DARRON GIBSON COULD be set to miss Ireland’s friendly game next week because of a knee injury, according to reports.
The midfielder started for Everton in their 2-0 FA Cup fifth round win over Blackpool but Toffees manager David Moyes was forced to withdraw the 24-year-old in the 82nd minute.
In an article in today’s Irish Daily Star, it is claimed that he will travel to London to have it assessed tomorrow as doctors fear he will be sidelined for four weeks.
That would mean Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni will be without his services for the meeting with the Czech Republic at Lansdowne Road on Wednesday.
If, as expected, Gibson is ruled out, there is unlikely to be a need for further call-ups as James McClean and Paul Green were added to the squad last week.
