Two Irish players questioned in alleged rape investigation, treated as witnesses, says lawyer

Denis Coulson and Chris Farrell arrived at the police station this morning.

TWO IRISHMEN, WHO are among six Grenoble players questioned by French police investigating an alleged rape, are being treated as witnesses according to their legal representative.

Prop Denis Coulson and centre Chris Farrell, Australian lock Peter Kimlin, New Zealanders Rory Grice and Dylan Hayes as well as French hooker Loick Jammes were today being questioned by officers in Grenoble.

“The correct position is that no one, as far as I’m aware — but in particular the Irish guys — have done anything wrong,” Cahir O’Higgins, the Irish pair’s legal representative told The42.ie.

“They’re helping the police as witnesses. And as I understand it, speaking generally, there’s evidence that no one did anything wrong.”

A young woman claimed she had been raped on Saturday, 11 March. The complaint was filed the following day.
