Talks between Siptu and Greyhound break down at the LRC

The talks talks have adjourned and there is no date set for them to resume.

EXPLORATORY TALKS BETWEEN Greyhound and Siptu have broken down this evening at the Labour Relations Commission.

A statement from Greyhound state that the talks have “adjourned” and that “no date has been set for a resumption”.

Sitpu members at the company had voted almost unanimously to engage in the talks

For the past 12 weeks the employees haven’t been working at the waste management company, as they maintain they were locked out of the jobs after they refused to accept pay cuts of 35% and changes to their terms of employment.

The company claims that the workers have been on strike.

Greyhound said this evening that the continuing blockading of the company’s depot, despite a High Court injunction, is jepardising bin collections in a large part of Dublin.
