Gallery: Greyhound workers march in Dublin as LRC invite them to talks

The marcher held a rally outside city hall.

AROUND 200 PROTESTERS marched to a meeting of Dublin City Council this evening in support of the Greyhound workers currently in dispute with the company.

The dispute has been ongoing since June and is over proposed pay cuts of up to 35% and changes to terms and conditions.

The workers say they refused to accept the pay cut and were locked out.

Tonight’s march was organised by Siptu and began at Liberty Hall before proceeding to City Hall where a rally took place ahead of first meeting of Dublin City Council since the summer break.

Siptu were holding the march to call on the council to “use all its powers to bring to an end the 11-week-old dispute”.

Earlier today, Greyhound accepted an invitation from the the Labour Relations Commission to enter a negotiation process with the workers.

The Siptu workers at the company will also vote tomorrow on the invitation to talks.
