Video: What do you think of the new Guinness ad?

This one cost €6.5m to make. Worth it?

IT LOOKS LIKE the beginning of a scene in Dr Zhivago but, in fact, the video below is the new ad from Guinness.

The ‘Clock’ ad is to be launched on TV tonight and cost €6.5m to make. It’s set in the Czech Republic in the 1890s and is narrated by a town clock which has the power to slow down or speed up time (depending on whether you’re at work or parked in front of a Guinness is the ideal, presumably).

London ad creatives AMV BBDO came up with the ad. Take a look here and tell us what you think. Business Insider thinks it is beautiful but Adweek doesn’t seem entirely convinced, fearing that “the brand’s countdown to self-parody has begun”.

Do you like it?
