Here we go again: Portsmouth enter administration for the second time

The Championship club will now be deducted 10 points, putting them out of the drop zone on goal difference alone.

PORTSMOUTH FC ARE again on the brink as they’ve entered administration today.

The Championship club will now be deducted 10 points, putting them out of the drop zone on goal difference alone.

The club’s application to go into administration was approved by a High Court judge earlier and an administrator will now be appointed.

Pompey have asked for the same administrator as last time to be assigned to them, according to the BBC. A hearing was told this week that Pompey have debts of around £4million.

It’s not the first time the Fratton Park outfit have been here of course. Portsmouth became the first Premier League club to enter administration and were deducted nine points, sealing their relegation in 2010.

It was reported this week that Portsmouth could not afford to pay for a scan on their skipper and Irish international Liam Lawrence.
