He's back: Lar Corbett returns to Tipperary panel

The player had originally quit playing for the county, saying he wanted to focus on business and work commitments.

TIPPERARY HURLING STAR Lar Corbett is set to return to the county’s senior panel, it has been announced.

Last February, Corbett said he would not be making himself available for his side’s 2012/2013 Championship campaign, explaining that he instead wanted to focus on business and work commitments.

However, a statement from the county today confirmed that the player is set for an immediate return to training.

The statement, released on the county’s official website, read:

“Tipperary Senior Hurling Manager Declan Ryan and Tipperary County Board are pleased to announce the return of Lar Corbett to the Tipperary Senior Hurling panel.

“Over the last few months Lar has been heavily involved in developing his business activities and is now once again in a position to give the necessary commitment to being a member of the panel. Lar will recommence training with the panel immediately.”

Corbett is considered one of the county’s star players, having helped them win two All-Ireland Championships, in addition to garnering three All-Star awards.
