IF YOU ARE out and about this morning, you are being advised to take it easy, as some roads and paths are particularly icy after a cold night.

Temperatures dropped below zero last night and in the early hours of this morning gardaí warned drivers to reduce their speed for conditions. They also advised the use of fog lights as visibility is low in places.

If you are out on an early morning walk, watch your step on frosty pavements too.

The good news is it will gradually get warmer as the day goes on with Met Éireann predicting highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees Celsius. Tonight there will be some patchy mist, so you might have to switch on the fog lights again if you are driving. Most places will escape the rain but there will be drizzle in some areas overnight.

As you return to work tomorrow morning (sorry) you will be met with milder temperatures reaching 11 degrees Celsius.
