LOOKING DOWN

Ireland looked pretty damn good from space yesterday

Stunning.

THE ASTRONAUTS STATIONED on the International Space Station keep the Irish public in good supply of pictures showing this little island from space.

We’ve seen Dublin basking in the sunshine, Waterford covered in snow, and the entire island hiding under a swirl of cloud.

And it was good timing for Sam Cristoforetti, an ESA astronaut from Italy, to snap another photo of Ireland as the mini-heatwave hit the country, showing the British Isles (and a bit of France) enjoying some sunny weather.

However, even at that, there’s a lot more cloud cover than we remember…

Keep it up, Sam.
