THE PRESIDENT OF the Scottish Football Association has said there will be no extra tickets for Irish fans hoping to attend the Euro 2016 qualifier at Parkhead later this month.
Despite the event not being sold out, Campbell Ogilvie says there will be no increase in the 5% allocation to Ireland fans meaning that just 3,209 tickets have been secured for visiting supporters despite 10,000 applications.
The stance of the SFC has led to many Irish fans purchasing tickets in the home section in Glasgow with Ogilvie telling Sky Sports News they will manage the situation should this cause any problems.
“I’d like to think that supporters from both teams can actually come to a game together.
“When we go abroad, Scotland get an allocation for our supporters to be scattered throughout the stadium and there are no problems there, so I would like to see that transmitted back here for the Republic game.”
