PADRAIG HARRINGTON is confident of adding to his three major titles after this weekend’s Masters.
The 40-year-old took a share of eighth place alongside Justin Rose and Adam Scott by recording a four-under par finish at Augusta – his best since winning the USPGA Championship in 2008.
It has been a tough couple of years for the Dubliner who had fallen to 96th in the world but now moves up to 80th after the impressive showing. He shot a final round of 72 and barring the double bogey on the 18th, Harrington is delighted with how he performed overall.
“Doubling the last cost me money, but nothing else,” he said on SkySports.com.
“I feel like I found a very nice place mentally. There’s good things in me going forward.
“I’ve won three majors, but that’s the most comfortable I’ve felt through 18 holes in the last round of a major.
“I feel I’m on an upswing, an upturn in my game. So yeah, I’m looking forward to going forward.”
