St Pat's Player of the Year Chambers agrees move to the US

It’s pastures new for the midfielder as he joins Bethlehem Steel.

JAMES CHAMBERS IS leaving the League of Ireland to join Bethlehem Steel.

The 28-year-old midfielder, who has had spells with St Patrick’s Athletic, Shamrock Rovers, Hamilton Academical, Drogheda United and Shelbourne, departs the Saints to sign for the newly-formed Pennsylvanian-based club who play in America’s third tier — the United Soccer League.

They are also the feeder club to MLS side Philadelphia Union.

A winner of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division, the FAI Cup, Setanta Sports Cup and EA Sports Cup, Dubliner Chambers was named in the PFAI Team of the Year last season and also won St Pat’s Player of the Year for 2015.
