Carlo Ancelotti hails John Terry's 'character'

Former Chelsea boss found Terry “a fantastic captain.”

FORMER CHELSEA MANAGER Carlo Ancelotti has claimed John Terry is one of the best players and personalities he has ever worked with.

The controversial Chelsea captain is set to go head-to-head with Anton Ferdinand when Chelsea take on Queen’s Park Rangers in the Premier League on Saturday.

It will be the first time the pair have faced each other since Terry was found not guilty of racially abusing Ferdinand in last season’s corresponding fixture, however, Ancelotti insists he has only good memories of the Chelsea central defender from his time in West London.

“As a personality (John) Terry is one of the best player’s that I’ve met because he has a really strong character, he has quality, he plays everything for the club and not for himself,” Ancelotti said.

“I found him a fantastic captain.”

Terry is under investigation by the English Football Association regarding his alleged racial abuse towards Ferdinand.

If found guilty by the FA, Terry could be banned from both international and club football.

Ancelotti, who is now head coach of big-spending Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain, has hinted he would be interested in tempting some of his former Chelsea players to France.

“Anything can happen in football,” Ancelotti said.

“The players (at Chelsea) have a very important position at the club and it is difficult for them to leave because they are the most important players at Chelsea.”
