Lad became Facebook hero after refusing reward for finding a lost iPhone

An all round good egg.

KIDS THESE DAYS – they’re not all that bad, as we have found out.

Twelve-year-old Josh Brown from Birmingham found an iPhone4 on a train seat last month and answered a call from the owner’s mother, asking him to return it.

According to the Daily Mail, Josh told Michelle Hickinbottom that he would leave the phone at the train station to be picked up later that day.

Josh was offered a £20 reward for his kindness, but when Hickinbottom went to retrieve the phone from the station, she was given this note:

Don’t worry about the money. Just do something nice for someone else. :) Josh Brown

Hickinbottom was bowled over by the letter, and immediately started a Facebook campaign to track Josh down. She told the Mail:

I was choked when I saw the letter. I was really overwhelmed. He will go far in life with an attitude like that. He seems a great lad.

After the note was shared thousands of times on Facebook, Josh’s mother Angela came forward last Friday. Angela says she is “very proud” of her kind-hearted son – while Josh thinks refusing the reward was just “the right thing to do”.

What a sound lad.
