The Departures Lounge: Kaka coming to the Premier League?

Real Madrid need to make room for Luka Modric, and have offered the 30-year-old Brazilian to Manchester United on loan.

HE MAY BELONG to Jesus, but the fact that Kia Joorabchian is nowhere to be seen could make Kaka’s potential loan move to Manchester United that bit easier to sort out.

Real Madrid want to make room for Luka Modric so have offered the Brazilian to Alex Ferguson and company, with the Scot giving the whole thing some serious consideration.

The 30-year-old has never been at his best since leaving AC Milan for the Bernabeu in 2009, but would seem to be the ideal candidate to relieve the burden on the 83-year-old Paul Scholes in the United midfield. Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite or Anderson?

It makes sense.

Meanwhile, expect Vitesse Arnhem left-back Alexander Buttner to be a United player very, very soon. He says himself that he’s close to joining the Old Trafford club.

Update: Another quick search reveals he has joined as back up to Patrice Evra.

Going?

Kieran Richardson has asked Martin O’Neill if he can leave Sunderland, with family reasons behind the versatile defender-midfielder’s request.

The 27-year-old threw his shirt to the away supporters after Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal, and fancies staying in London full-time.

“Kieran came to see me a while ago in the last transfer window,” he told Sky Sports.

“For family issues and things, he thought there maybe needed a change. No-one has come in and made an offer. That, though, does not mean there is nothing happening, I just don’t know.

“But if he performs like he did against Arsenal, I would like to keep him.”

Going?

Nobody quite knows the extent of the knee injury picked up by Sergio Aguero against Southampton, but Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is prepared to do battle with Chelsea for Fiorentina attacker Stevan Jovetic.

The 22-year-old is valued at around the £25m mark by his club, an outlay that would cause nobody at either Stamford Bridge or Eastlands to break out in much of a sweat.

Juventus have also been credited with an interest in the Montenegro international.

Elsewhere, Stoke manager Tony Pulis has played down any link to Michael Owen – supposedly also wanted by Everton – while saying that he does hope to make some new signings before the window closes.

Elsewhere again, Bayern Munich are set to beat Manchester City to the signing of Athletic Bilbao stopper Javi Martinez.

Gone!

Josh McEachran has realised there is little point in hanging around in Roman Abramovich’s back garden after the signings or Marko Marin and Oscar, so has travelled up north to join Middlesbrough on a season-long loan.

Irish striker Conor Sammon has left Wigan to join Derby County on a four-year deal.
