KATIE TAYLOR HAS set her sights on three wins in three days as she steps up preparations for her European title defence.
Ireland’s Olympic champion will headline bills in Cork’s Rochestown Park Hotel tonight and tomorrow before switching to the Dungarvan Sports Centre, Waterford to complete the bumper bank holiday schedule.
Croatia’s Marija Petric is first up to face Taylor, with Switzerland’s Anais Kister and Kristin Karlson of America slated to face the world number one lightweight on Friday and Saturday.
Irish Olympians Darren O’Neill and Adam Nolan are also set to fight in Cork while two of Ireland’s rising female stars, Niamh Ball and Lynne Harvey, are in action on the Waterford card.
Taylor is red-hot favourite to clinch her sixth straight gold at European Women’s Championship which begins in Bucharest, Romania on 31 May.
“I had a number of bouts before the London Olympics in Cork and Waterford,” she said. “I got a fantastic reception and I’m looking forward to three tough bouts there this week.”
