Three still being questioned over Clonsilla mistaken identity shooting

Keith Walker, 36, was shot dead in west Dublin on Friday.

Updated at 8pm

GARDAÍ HAVE MADE two further arrests today as the investigation into the murder of Keith Walker on Shelerin Road, Clonsilla on Friday last continues.

Two men, aged 36 and 38 years, were arrested last night in Dublin. A spokesperson confirmed this evening that they were still in custody.

Gardaí reportedly have also searched a number of residential properties in the Dublin area.

The news follows the first arrest in the case, that of a 32-year-old man in Ratoath, Co Meath yesterday morning in connection with the shooting.

All three men are being detained under the provisions of section 50 Criminal Justice Act 1997 at Finglas and Blanchardstown Garda stations.

Walker, 36 and a father of two, died after reportedly being shot eight times, including once in the head at a pigeon club in Clonsilla.

Another man, believed to be a taxi driver, was shot in the hand.

The gunman was dressed as a woman when he carried out the attack, locals said.

It is understood the dead man was not the intended target of the shooting, and that it was a case of mistaken identity.
