Kernan and O'Donnell pick their men for Sunday's Interpro semi

The Connacht and Ulster football teams have been announced ahead of Sunday’s Interprovincial semi-final in Markievicz Park.

ULSTER MANAGER JOE KERNAN and Connacht’s Fergal O’Donnell today named their respective starting XVs for Sunday’s M. Donnelly Interprovincial semi-final in Markievicz Park.

Down stopper Brendan McVeigh starts in goal for Ulster, and is joined by four of his inter-county team-mates, including Benny Coulter who is named at full-forward alongside the Tyrone duo of Martin Penrose and Owen Mulligan.

Donegal All-Stars Neil McGee and Karl Lacey start in the full-back line. Monaghan’s only representative in the starting XV, half-back Darren Hughes, captains the side.

Meanwhile, O’Donnell has named a starting fifteen heavily influenced by last year’s Connacht Final between Mayo and Roscommon. Four players from each county get the nod, as does Mayo forward Conor Mortimer who returned to action last month after a long spell on the sidelines with injury.

Liam Sheedy has included nine players from last year’s All-Ireland runners-up Tipperary in his preliminary Munster hurling panel for Sunday’s semi-final against Leinster in Nowlan Park.

Admission prices for all four semi-finals are €10 for adults, €5 for students and senior citizens, with children aged 16 and under admitted free of charge.
