Clubs gear up for hurling sevens action

32 clubs from ten counties will be vying for the Kilmacud Crokes All-Ireland Hurling Sevens title tomorrow.

THE TRADITIONAL BUILD-UP to the All-Ireland senior hurling final will take place tomorrow with the 40th running of the One Direct Kilmacud Crokes All-Ireland senior hurling sevens.

The action throws in tomorrow morning with the opening matches in the eight groups at Silver Park, Naomh Olaf, Glenalbyn, UCD and Bray. The knockout stages are all pencilled in for the Kilmacud Crokes club grounds in Glenalbyn with the quarter-finals seeing the Group 1 winners playing Group 2 winners at 2.15pm, the Group 3 winners facing the Group 4 winners at 2.45pm, the Group 5 winners up against the Group 6 winners at 3.15pm and the Group 7 winners challenging the Group 8 winners at 3.45pm.

The semi-finals will be on at 4.45pm and 5.15pm before the final is pencilled in for 6.30pm.

Group 1: Ballyboden St-Enda’s (Dublin), Burgess (Tipperary), Kiltormer (Galway), Ballinamere (Offaly) – Venue: Silver Park.

Group 2: Meelick-Eyrecourt (Galway), Camross (Laois), Naomh Olaf (Dublin), Ahane (Limerick) – Venue: Naomh Olaf.

Group 3: Upperchurch-Drombane (Tipperary), Ballygalget (Down), Faughs (Dublin), Birr (Offaly) – Venue: Silverpark.

Group 4: Inagh-Kilnamona (Clare), Gort (Galway), Ferns-St Aidan’s (Wexford), Ballycran (Down) – Venue: Glenalbyn.

Group 5: Clarecastle (Clare), St Vincent’s (Dublin), Moneygall (Tipperary), Loughrea (Galway) – Venue: UCD.

Group 6: O’Donovan Rossa (Antrim), Moycarkey-Borris (Tipperary), Kilmacud Crokes 2 (Dublin), Mullagh (Galway) – Venue: UCD.

Group 7: Loughiel Shamrocks (Antrim), Kilmacud Crokes (Dublin), Éire Óg Nenagh (Tipperary), Clarinbridge (Galway) – Venue: Bray.

Group 8: Kilruane McDonagh’s (Tipperary), Coolderry (Offaly), Cloughbawn (Wexford), Beagh (Galway) – Venue: Bray.
