'No press conference, no party': LeBron James is going back to work with Cleveland Cavaliers

Sports Illustrated and the Cavs landed The Big One today.

Sports Illustrated. Sports Illustrated.

LEBRON JAMES HAS today revealed he is ‘going home’ to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers again.

The four-time NBA MVP winner left the Cavs in 2010, infamously ‘taking his talents to South Beach’ and the Miami Heat in a live hour-long ESPN broadcast in 2010.

This time around, he has maintained a much lower profile, and says that the exclusive column in Sports Illustrated today will put the matter to bed.

“I’m doing this essay because I want an opportunity to explain myself uninterrupted,” it says in James’ column.

“I don’t want anyone thinking: He and Erik Spoelstra didn’t get along. … He and Riles didn’t get along. … The Heat couldn’t put the right team together. That’s absolutely not true.

“I’m not having a press conference or a party. After this, it’s time to get to work.”

The Sports Illustrated exclusive really is worth a read. In it, James insists that he is not ‘promising’ an instant Championship, but says he has the patience to work hard in Cleveland and help the young Cavs side to grow.

“My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball. I didn’t realise that four years ago. I do now.”
