Niall McNamee fires Rhode to victory over Paddy Keenan's St. Patrick's

OFFALY STAR NIALL McNamee gave an exhibition as Rhode booked a place in the Leinster club championship quarter-final with a 2-9 to 0-10 victory over Louth champions St. Patrick’s.

Goals from Anton Sullivan and Conor McNamee either side of half-time propelled The Village to victory, with McNamee proving inspirational with a series of well-taken scores.

Rhode will face Navan O’Mahony’s of Meath in the next stage of the competition.

In the other Leinster club SFC first round game played today, Wicklow champions Rathnew were four point winners over Rathvilly.

Winning on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-9, a late Jody Merrigan goal sealed their place in the next round and set-up a clash with newly crowned Kildare champions Moorefield.
