THE MOST EXCITING hurling championship in recent memory writes its penultimate chapter this afternoon when Limerick and Clare meet in the second semi-final.
The neighbours need no introduction but there’s far more than local bragging rights on offer in Croke Park.
A Limerick win would take the Munster champions one step closer to the All-Ireland title which has eluded them since 1973 and give them a chance to bridge that 40-year gap.
But under the tutelage of Davy Fitzgerald Clare’s young guns have proven themselves to be a resilient lot while playing some of the year’s most entertaining hurling.
Either way it will be an all-Munster decider when the winners meet Cork in the All-Ireland final on 8 September.
The bookmakers can hardly split them. Can you?
