Over £16k raised online for Derry woman who collapsed in Indonesia

Lisa Orsi plays for the local GAA team the Singapore Gaelic Lions.

MORE THAN £16,000 has been raised online for a Derry woman who collapsed while on holiday.

Lisa Orsi (22) is believed to be in a critical condition in hospital after she collapsed on Friday in the room in which she was staying.

Orsi works as a physiotherapist in Singapore and she plays for the local GAA team, the Singapore Gaelic Lions.

Her family have flown to be by her side in a hospital.

Money raised

The money has been collected on an online funding site set up by a close friend who says the cash will be used to cover the travel costs and medical bills facing Orsi’s family.

Sinead Mcelhinney writes:

Lisa would do anything for anyone and we should take it upon ourselves to help her family and our friend at this difficult time.

An update on the Singapore Gaelic Lions Facebook page yesterday said:

Unfortunately Lisa’s condition isn’t good. She has sustained severe brain damage as a result of a period of hypoxia and she is still in a coma in ICU…

Supporters

Her mother has thanked everyone for their support.

This evening Sharon Orsi said on social media that more tests will be carried out on Lisa in the morning by request of the family .

… then will have to decide when we turn Lisa support off . Then we will bring our baby home. The time line is not clear. Lisa, some of Singapore family met us at the hospital and we have decided to let them say goodbye to their sister .We feel we owe them that much, god bless you all and thanks for your support and kind and loving words xxx
