AS IT HAPPENED

As it happened: Chelsea v Tottenham, Premier League

Tottenham took on Chelsea, as they sought to keep their title bid alive.

Here are tonight’s teams…

We’re underway…

Interestingly, it looks like Heung-Min Son is playing in the Dele Alli position behind Kane rather than Eriksen, who is on the wing as usual.

As I type, a Cahill header from a corner goes just wide.

Chelsea are causing Tottenham some problems in the early stages.

Walker is slightly fortunate, as he gives Matic a little nudge as a free kick is floated into the Spurs box.

Eriksen’s cross narrowly eludes the onrushing Kyle Walker.

Tottenham are coming more into this game now.

It certainly isn’t a meaningless game as far as the Chelsea fans are concerned.

Willian’s cross is deflected out for a corner, before Fabregas strikes wide from a low delivery to the near post.

Chelsea’s players look really up for this, which hasn’t necessarily been the case in every game this season.

Spurs have made an early tactical switch. Eriksen is now playing as a number 10, with Heung-Min Son out wide.

Both players in question have been quiet so far.

It’s been a scrappy start to this game, with both sides struggling to retain possession.

It’s developing into a quite cagey affair, so don’t be surprise if there aren’t too many goals tonight.

As I type, a corner falls to Eriksen, but his shot from a difficult angle goes well over the bar.

Half-chance for Fabregas. Chelsea counter attack, and the Spaniard places a ball narrowly wide from the edge of the box.

Meanwhile, Walker has been booked for a late challenge on Pedro in the build-up to that chance.

Down the other end, Heung-Min Son shoots narrowly wide from the edge of the box.

This game is starting to come alive now, after an underwhelming opening 25 minutes.

Another Chelsea attempt on goal.

Kyle Walker has looked nervy and he gives the ball away in Spurs’ final third, enabling Costa to shoot, but the Spanish international’s shot is tipped over quite comfortably by Lloris.

CHELSEA 0-1 TOTTENHAM (KANE 35)

Kane gives Spurs the lead with a classic Tottenham goal.

Eriksen finds Lamela, who plays through Kane, with the England striker timing his run to perfection before rounding Begović and slotting the ball into the empty net.

This could make the title race very interesting indeed.

Bit of handbags between Vertonghen and Costa results in both getting booked.

Stamford Bridge has gone very quiet all of a sudden, with the cheering of a small group of away fans now audible.

Good chance for Lamela as the ball falls to him inside the box, but Cahill gets a vital block in to deny the Argentine player.

Down the other end, Willian slices a shot just wide.

Rose is penalised for a late challenge on Pedro after overrunning the ball.

A few Tottenham players have looked a little nervy tonight, and have been making sloppy errors.

CHELSEA 0-2 TOTTENHAM (SON 44)

Spurs double their advantage, as Heung-Min Son scores.

It’s a lovely through ball from Eriksen, and the attacker makes no mistake with his finish.

Willian and Danny Rose have just had a shoving match, after the latter’s cynical challenge.

Pochettino comes onto the pitch to break up the two, with both players eventually booked.

HALF-TIME: CHELSEA 0-2 TOTTENHAM

So half-time, and at the moment, it looks like Leicester will have to wait even longer to win the title.

It was evenly matched for long periods of the first half, but Tottenham ultimately hit the hosts with two sucker punches, in the form of clinical respective finishes by Kane and Son.

Eriksen has been particularly impressive in the absence of the suspended Delli Alli, having a hand in both goals, with Chelsea’s defence struggling to cope at times with Tottenham’s lively attacking trio.

Kane’s perfect timing of his run for the first goal in particular really epitomised the intelligence of this Tottenham team.

During that player melee just before half-time, Dembele appeared to attempt an eye gouge on Costa.

The midfielder is lucky to still be on the field, and will probably face retrospective action as a result.

Hazard is on to give Chelsea a greater attacking threat.

He has replaced the ineffectual Pedro.

The second half is underway…

Great block from Walker to stop Azpilicueta’s dangerous-looking cross.

Purposeful start to the second half from Chelsea.

Lamela finds Kane, whose curled shot from a tight angle forces Begovic into a save.

Surely one more goal would put this game’s outcome beyond all doubt.

Lamela is then booked for a late challenge on Fabregas. Spurs have been uncharacteristically ill-disciplined tonight, and probably should have had two red cards already.

Twitter is, of course, offering plenty of opinions on that eye-gouging incident.

Good play from Tottenham.

A cross-field ball from Kane finds Rose, who squares it to Son, but the attacker’s shot is too tame to trouble Begovic.

CHELSEA 1-2 TOTTENHAM (CAHILL 58)

Another twist, as Cahill gets one back for Chelsea.

It’s poor from Tottenham’s defence, as the Chelsea centre-back controls the ball from a corner before firing home.

Costa finds Willian on the edge of the box, but his shot is weak and comfortably saved by Lloris.

All the momentum is with Chelsea right now, and Stamford Bridge can sense it.

Spurs make a defensive change, as boyhood Chelsea fan Ryan Mason replaces Heung-Min Son.

Looks like the visitors are going to try to hang on for the next 25 minutes.

Mason gets the ball in a good position, but he dwells on it too long.

Moments later, Kane’s shot is deflected wide.

Eriksen is booked as he takes Hazard out cynically to concede a free-kick.

There’s been a real nervousness and lack of discipline about Tottenham tonight that’s not in keeping with most of their performances this season.

So close! Hazard drives the ball across the box and it somehow eludes everyone.

The Belgian international has had a big influence since coming on at half-time.

Huge chance!

Walker plays in Mason, but his attempt from the edge of the box is poor, and Begovic makes a comfortable enough save.

Another change for Chelsea, as Matic is replaced by Oscar.

We’re set for an incredibly tense final 10 minutes.

Kane’s blasted cross is too high for Mason.

Meanwhile, Danny Rose has picked up a hamstring injury and is replaced by Ben Davies.

Incredible scenes!

Hazard links up beautifully with Costa, before curling the ball into the net.

The Belgian star has made a huge impact in this second half.

CHELSEA 2-2 TOTTENHAM (HAZARD 83)

Five minutes remain, and as it stands Leicester are champions…

Tottenham are totally losing their heads now.

Dier has just been booked for an awful challenge on Hazard that could have resulted in a straight red.

One last throw of the dice for Tottenham, as Chadli replaces Alderweireld.

We’re into six minutes of time added on.

Hazard’s shot is deflected wide.

Tottenham look exhausted and demoralised.

Ryan Mason has just been booked for another poor challenge.

Tottenham have definitely let the occasion get to them tonight.

FULL-TIME: CHELSEA 2-2 TOTTENHAM — LEICESTER ARE PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!

So that’s that. Leicester are champions after Tottenham blow a two-goal lead.

There’s more trouble on the sidelines, and Michel Vorm appears to be at the heart of a bit of argy bargy.

In truth, it was a bit of a collapse in the second half from Spurs, as Hazard inspired a Chelsea revival that appeared unlikely at the break.

Tottenham looked nervy all night, and appeared to let the occasion get to them, with more than one of their players lucky not to be sent off.

However, that all should take nothing away from Leicester, who fully deserve their title triumph.

That’s all from me, but we’ll have more reaction to follow.
