Donegal 2-6 Laois 2-9 (FT)

14:3114.31 – Hello, and welcome to our liveblog of the Allianz League, as Donegal take on Laois.

14:3314.33 – And we’re underway…

14:3514.35 – Here is the Laois side:

Eoin Culliton (Timahoe),  Cahir Healy (Portlaoise), Kieran Lillis (Portlaoise), Peter O’Leary (O’Dempsey’s), Darren Strong (Emo), John O’Loughlin (St Brigid’s), Conor Boyle (Portlaoise), Kevin Meaney (Arles-Kilcruise), Brendan Quigley (Timahoe), Ross Munnelly (Arles-Kilcruise), Colm Begley (Parnells), Damien O’Connor (Timahoe), Paul Cahillane (Portlaoise), Padraig Clancy (Timahoe), David Conway (Arles-Kilcruise).

14:4014.40 – Laois have gone ahead, courtesy of a Ross Munnelly free.

14:4114.41 – Munnelly has now got his second point in succession. It’s been a good start for Laois.

14:4314.43 – Anthony Thompson has just hit a poor attempt wide, compounding Donegal’s poor start in the process.

14:4614.46 – Here are some of today’s other current scorelines:

Westmeath 0-0 Meath 0-2, Monaghan 0-3 Kildare 0-2, Tyrone 0-1 Derry 0-2, Limerick 1-7 London 1-13.

14:4814.48 – Patrick McBrearty has finally put some points on the board for Donegal, with a straightforward free from about 30 yards out. They have been extremely wasteful in attack so far.

14:5314.53 – Patrick McBrearty swivels away from his man and scores an excellently-taken point to bring Donegal level.

14:5414.54 – David Conway then immediately scores a point at the other end, to restore his side’s advantage.

14:5614.56 – A quick free from Laois finds that man again, Ross Munnelly, unmarked, and he finishes well once more.

14:5914.59 – Some last-ditch defence from Donegal prevents Conway from getting a shot on goal, but Colm Begley follows up with a point, after the hosts only half clear it.

15:0215.02Patrick McBrearty grabs a point for Donegal before Padraig Clancy restores the visitors three-point lead.

15:0815.08GOAL FOR LAOIS!

15:1015.10Paul Cahillane scores a penalty after Padraig Clancy is adjudged to have been impeded by Karl Lacey, after catching a high ball into the Donegal box.

15:1015.10HALF TIME: DONEGAL 0-4 LAOIS 1-6

15:2115.21 – So Laois deservedly lead a below-par Donegal at half time. The visitors have looked that extra bit sharper and fitter than Jim McGuinness’ men so far.

15:2415.24 – Here’s how today’s other games are developing:

Allianz Football League Division 1

Cork 4-07 Down 0-07

Allianz Football League Division 2

Westmeath 0-04 Meath 0-10

Monaghan 0-09 Kildare 0-06

Tyrone 1-07 Derry 0-03

Galway 1-05 Louth 0-05

Allianz Football League Division 3

Offaly 0-03 Roscommon 0-06

Tipperary 0-05 Antrim 1-03

Sligo 3-07 Wexford 0-07

Allianz Football League Division 4

Limerick 1-13 London 1-07 (FT)

Carlow 0-06 Leitrim 1-04

Fermanagh 0-02 Clare 0-05

15:2615.26 – The second half is underway…

15:2915.29 – Poor attempt from McBrearty, who hits a free wide from straight in front of the posts.

15:3215.32 – More good work from Ross Munnelly – who  has been very impressive – to set up Paul Cahillane, who shoots wide.

15:3515.35 – A lovely flowing move from Laois ends with Darren Strong slotting it over. They now lead by six points.

15:3915.39 – Donegal manage to string a few passes together, but good pressure from the Laois backs eventually causes them to concede possession.

Conway subsequently adds to Laois’ advantage.

15:4215.42 – Again, Rory Kavanagh loses possession all too easily.

This very much has the look of an early-season performance from Donegal – they seem somewhat off the pace.

15:4215.42GOAL FOR LAOIS!

15:4415.44 – High ball into the box from Strong, and Clancy does exceptionally well to turn and shoot past the keeper from close range. Game over?

15:5015.50 – Donegal need an average of a point a minute to rescue this game – surely an impossible task.

15:5215.52Kavanagh has just scored a point to the sound of muted cheers.

15:5415.54GOAL FOR DONEGAL!

15:5515.55GOAL FOR DONEGAL!

15:5715.57 – Amazing stuff! Neil Gallagher smashes home following a defensive error, a minute after a controversial goal that is adjudged to have crossed the goalline despite Laois’ protrests.

16:0016.00 Anthony Thompson scored Donegal’s first goal by the way. Although Laois will probably claim he didn’t.

16:0216.02FULL TIME: DONEGAL 2-6 LAOIS 2-9

16:0516.05 – So a well-deserved win for Laois, despite getting a bit of a scare late on.
