As it happened: Liverpool v West Brom, Premier League

The team news is out…

We’re underway…

Pretty unremarkable opening two minutes.

It’s been quite scrappy, with the game’s pattern yet to be established.

West Brom have looked relatively comfortable so far.

The Baggies are coming off the back of an impressive 1-1 draw with in-form Tottenham last week.

It’s been quiet enough at Anfield so far.

If you’re interested in what’s going on in the Tottenham-Newcastle game at the moment, you can also follow it here.

Henderson lofts the ball towards Benteke amid half-hearted claims for a penalty, with fans suspecting Dawson of holding onto the Belgian player. Shortly thereafter, a Clyne cross-shot is diverted out for a corner.

Liverpool have upped their intensity in recent minutes.

Great tackle from Gardner, as he prevents Benteke from getting on the end of a Milner cut-back.

West Brom are beginning to look less comfortable now.

Good opportunity for Liverpool.

An innocuous-looking ball is lofted into the box, but it’s only half-cleared, and Coutinho blasts his attempt from the edge of the box over.

Moreno crosses for Benteke, who can’t quite connect with the header.

Replays show that Olsson was holding onto the striker, and thus preventing him from jumping properly.

West Brom are absolutely flooding their box, so it’s not going to be easy for Liverpool to score today.

West Brom are coming into the game a bit more now.

Gardner evades Moreno and narrowly fails to connect with McClean’s excellent cross.

LIVERPOOL 1-0 WEST BROM (HENDERSON 21)

Henderson scores on his return to the team, and it’s a well worked goal

Coutinho pays the ball into Lallana, who heads it into Henderson’s path, and the club captain makes no mistake with his finish.

Coutinho has looked lively so far and shown some very nice touches.

Klopp will be relieved to have the Brazilian playmaker back in his team after missing the Newcastle game last week.

LIVERPOOL 1-1 WEST BROM (DAWSON 30)

It’s a bit of a horror show from Mignolet as West Brom equalise.

The goalkeeper comes for the corner but fails in his attempt to parry the ball away.

Rondon keeps it alive and the ball falls to Dawson, who blasts it home from close range.

More dodgy goalkeeping from Mignolet.

He comes for the ball outside his area rather casually and James Morrison almost succeeds in taking it off him.

Lallana plays a decent ball in to the box, but there is a conspicuous lack of Liverpool bodies in there to meet it.

Jurgen Klopp is probably feeling pretty frustrated right now.

As I type, Benteke meets a lofted ball into the box and his audacious bicycle kick goes just wide.

Coutinho, who has been influential so far, receives the ball between the lines and tests the goalkeeper with a decent strike from distance.

West Brom haven’t been doing a great job marking the Brazilian so far, and they may not go unpunished for much longer. The likes of Darren Fletcher need to get tighter on Liverpool’s main creative outlet.

Clever pass from Lallana to find Milner, who blasts over from a difficult angle.

Benteke, who was waiting in the box, does not look too pleased with the England international.

More penalty claims, as McAuley’s hand stops Benteke’s attempt to get round him.

It looked accidental judging by replays and the referee waves play on.

LIVERPOOL 1-2 WEST BROM (OLSSON 45)

CORRECTION: LIVERPOOL 1-1 WEST BROM — GOAL DISALLOWED

After about a minute, the officials finally decide to rule out Olsson’s goal.

He got on the end of a free kick and finished past Mignolet.

It’s not clear what exactly the infringement was and the whistle has just gone for half-time.

HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 1-1 WEST BROM

So half-time, and the Baggies are fuming. The visitors seemingly scored on the brink of half-time, but the goal was correctly ruled out for offside.

1-1 is probably a fair enough result so far, however. Liverpool have largely dominated possession and territory, but West Brom have defended manfully and been a big threat from set pieces.

Klopp will not be particularly pleased with some of Liverpool’s defending, with Mignolet undoubtedly culpable for West Brom’s goal.

The second half is underway…

The second half has started in a similar manner to how much of the first panned out.

West Brom are defending deep and in numbers, with Liverpool patiently attempting to break them down.

As I type, Milner flashes a shot just wide.

Henderson’s attempt goes well over.

West Brom have been defending quite well in the second half so far, with Liverpool largely reduced to pot shots.

Can plays it to Coutinho, but he flicks it on to no one in particular.

Gareth McAuley is down receiving treatment prompting a stoppage in play.

Liverpool are looking a frustrated team in recent minutes.

Fletcher stands in front of Mignolet, seemingly blocking his path, and the referee blows up as the corner goes into the box.

West Brom have clearly targeted the Liverpool goalkeeper as an area of weakness.

McClean crosses into the box and Mignolet palms it away unconvincingly.

The crowd react in audible frustration.

LIVERPOOL 1-2 WEST BROM (OLSSON 73)

Olsson heads home Chris Brunt’s corner and this time, his goal does count.

So that’s three West Brom goals from set pieces (albeit one of which was ultimately disallowed).

It doesn’t look good for Lovren after a 50:50 challenge with Gardner.

He looks in serious pain and is about to be replaced by Kolo Toure.

In fact, it’s Origi who replaces Lovren, with Emre Can switching to centre-back.

Liverpool badly need a goal, and as I type, Benteke plays through Lallana, but Myhill denies Lallana in a one-on-one.

We’re set for a tense final 10 minutes.

Liverpool have pushed West Brom right back, with the game being played solely in the Baggies’ half of late.

Liverpool make another change as Firmino comes on for Lallana.

Still no sign of a breakthrough for the home side.

Half-chance for West Brom.

Rondon gets the ball at the edge of the box and he drives his shot just wide.

It’s not looking good for Liverpool.

Better from Liverpool as Ibe plays it to Henderson on the edge of the box, but his shot is straight at Myhill.

Ibe then flashes a shot narrowly wide moments later.

A minute of normal time remains, but we will have eight minutes of stoppage time owing to that Lovren injury.

McAuley, who has had a fine game, heads away Clyne’s cross.

Will Liverpool get one last chance?

McAuley again stops Skrtel from getting to Firmino’s cross. West Brom have defended superbly today.

Lambert has replaced Rondon in attack for the dying moments.

LIVERPOOL 2-2 WEST BROM (ORIGI 96)

Heartbreak for West Brom, as Origi is rewarded for some positive play.

The young striker powers forward and his hopeful shot from distance finds the back of the net via a deflection.

West Brom have handed Liverpool the initiative since Olsson’s goal, and ultimately, they’ve been punished.

FULL-TIME: LIVERPOOL 2-2 WEST BROM

Liverpool celebrate as if they’ve won that game and it will certainly feel like a point gained for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

West Brom sat back and defended well for much of the game, scoring twice from set pieces and consistently frustrating Liverpool’s attack.

The Reds were not particularly sharp today, and at times looked short of ideas, but ultimately their persistence paid off as their late siege was rewarded in the form of Origi’s last-gasp deflected goal.

All things considered, a draw was probably a fair result, but Tony Pulis’ men will be gutted at how the game finished.

Right, that’s all from me.
