We’re following the Newcastle-Chelsea game, which is just underway, while keeping an eye on the rest of today’s games.

Everton 0-1 Aston Villa: Benteke has given Villa a surprise lead after 3 minutes, having been set up by N’Zogbia.

Reading 1-0 Sunderland: More misery for Martin O’Neill, as Jimmy Kebe produces an impressive effort from Jobi McAnuff’s assist (5 mins).

Newcastle have looked relatively assured so far, especially for a side that’s well below Chelsea in the table.

However, as I type, Bertrand delivers a dangerous ball into the hosts’ area, which no one is on hand to meet.

Meanwhile, at the Emirates…

Frank Lampard blasts a decent chance over, after being set up by Ashley Cole.

A journalist, who shall remain nameless, earlier suggested Lampard as a viable candidate for Player of the Season.

Sissoko sets up Cisse, whose shot when through on goal from the edge of the box doesn’t give Cech too much trouble.

Newcastle are better than their current position in the table suggests based on this performance.

Everton 1-1 Aston Villa: Normal order resumes at Goodison Park, as Anichebe levels for Everton (21 mins).

Poor Villa…

Everton 1-2 Aston Villa: I spoke too soon, as the Villains regain the lead.

Gabriel Agbonlahor heads home after a corner is only half cleared (24 mins).

Wigan 1-0 Southampton: Another header, this time from Gary Caldwell, gives Wigan the edge (26 mins).

That’s what many commentator would call a relegation six-pointer.

Demba Ba has just headed a rebound inches wide against his former club.

It was an excellent through ball in the lead up from Frank ‘Player of the Season’ Lampard.

Reading 1-1 Sunderland: The visitors have equalised thanks to a Craig Gardner penalty (28 mins).

That’s another game that has interesting permutations at the lower half of the table.

The ball deflects into the path of Cisse.

His shot, when through on goal, forces Cech into an excellent save.

GOAL FOR NEWCASTLE!

Newcastle 1-0 Chelsea: A clever cross is headed in in glorious fashion by Jonas Gutierrez (40 mins).

Meanwhile, Demba Ba goes off, shortly after being kicked in the face by Fabricio Coloccini.

Reports suggest Ba has broken his nose.

Torres is on in his stead anyhow.

Some juicy gossip for you…

Half-times:

Everton 1-2 Aston Villa

Reading 1-1 Sunderland

West Ham 0-0 Swansea

Newcastle 1-0 Chelsea

Arsenal 0-0 Stoke City

Wigan 1-0 Southampton

The second halves are underway…

GOAL FOR CHELSEA!

Newcastle 1-1 Chelsea: Out of nothing, Frank Lampard produces a superb strike from just outside the box to bring Chelsea level (54 mins).

10 goals in 12 starts and at least 10 goals in 10 consecutive seasons for Lampard now.

GOAL FOR CHELSEA!

Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle: It’s another superb strike.

The ball is laid off to Mata on the edge of the box, and he curls it beautifully into the corner of the net (60 mins).

Southampton 1-1 Wigan: Rickie Lambert‘s header has got the Saints right back into the game (64 mins).

Jack Cork provided the assist.

GOAL FOR NEWCASTLE!

Newcastle 2-2 Chelsea: Poor defending from Chelsea, as Gouffran goes through on goal (68 mins).

His powerful shot is saved by Cech, but only parried into the path of Sissoko, who slots it into the empty net.

Everton 2-3 Aston Villa: Fellaini has got one back for Everton (69 mins).

Benteke had put Villa 3-1 up (61 mins).

Arsenal 1-0 Stoke: Arsenal have gone ahead finally through Podolski (78 mins)

It came in controversial circumstances though, with many claiming it shouldn’t have been allowed.

Reading 2-1 Sunderland: Jimmy Kebe has scored again for Reading (85 mins).

He’s obviously giving Le Fondre a rest for today.

And here’s a look at that Ba incident.

GOAL FOR NEWCASTLE!

Newcastle 3-2 Chelsea: Incredible stuff (89 mins).

Sissoko blasts it home from the edge of the box, after being set up well by Santon.

He’s also just been named Man of the Match.

Everton 3-3 Aston Villa: Fellaini has just got a late equaliser (90 mins).

Poor, poor Villa!

FULL-TIME: NEWCASTLE 3-2 CHELSEA

Other full-times:

Everton 3-3 Aston Villa

Arsenal 1-0 Stoke

Reading 2-1 Sunderland

Wigan 2-2 Southampton

West Ham 1-0 Swansea

The Newcastle fans are pretty happy, it’s fair to say:

So a crazy game at Newcastle then.

Chelsea will ultimately rue the poor defending that allowed Newcastle back into the game, after they did the hard work and got themselves ahead.

Newcastle, on the other hand, can take great encouragement from the performance, with Sissoko, in particular, already looking like an astute signing.

Right, that’s all from me.

Thanks for your company.
