THEY MAY ONLY be charity games but Liverpool and Manchester United supporters will have the opportunity to watch some of their clubs’ former stars in action again today.
Ian Rush will manage a Liverpool Legends XI when they face Real Madrid at the Bernabeu with luminaries such as Jamie Carragher, Steve McManaman and Robbie Fowler lining out for the Reds.
In fact, both team-sheets for this evening’s 5pm kick-off in the Spanish capital contains illustrious names from top to bottom with the hosts boasting players such as Roberto Carlos, Zinedine Zidane and Clarence Seedorf within their ranks.
Liverpool Legends: Dudek, Xavier, Henchoz, Carragher, McAteer, McManaman, Berger, Luis Garcia, Owen, Fowler, Bellamy.
Man United, meanwhile, are hosting Bayern Munich at Old Trafford for a Legends clash with the Premier League club welcoming some of their former stars back.
Paul Scholes, Ji-sung Park and Louis Saha are three players set to be involved who have recently retired while several members of the treble winning team from 1999 will pull on the red shirt again.
Unfortunately both games are only available to watch on each club’s respective in-house stations.
