HERE ARE THE good, the bad, and the unlikely football moves being talked about today…
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has dismissed speculation linking the club with a move for the Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, describing such talk as “nonsense”.
However, the Reds are believed to be interested in 23-year-old PSG attacker Jesé Rodríguez, though Milan and Roma are also understood to be keen on the player.
Harry Redknapp has expressed interest in the vacant Swansea manager’s job and says he would try to take Chelsea defender John Terry with him.
Arsenal will attempt to land Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Marco Reus if Alexis Sanchez rejects a new contract and leaves the club.
Juventus are set to recall Simone Zaza from his loan deal with West Ham, while ex-Man United defender Patrice Evra could move in the opposite direction.
Chelsea are eyeing up 20-year-old Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie, though the Italian club are demanding €40 million for their prized asset.
Antonio Conte’s side have also set their sights on Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal, after Roma rejected their €45 million offer for Belgian international Radja Nainggolan.
Both Man City and Barcelona are hoping to secure the services of 21-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl.
Retro Deal of the Day: Albert Luque to Newcastle
Joined Newcastle for €10.5 million from Deportivo in 2005, the Spanish international was rated highly in La Liga but managed just one goal over the course of 21 appearances in two seasons with the Magpies, sealing his status as one of the worst-ever Premier League signings in the process.
He was sold in 2007 to Ajax for just €2.3 million, and was similarly underwhelming at the Dutch club and later Malaga, before retiring in 2011.
