AS IT HAPPENED

As it happened: Liverpool v West Ham, FA Cup

There was an all-Premier League fourth round tie at Anfield this evening.

Good evening! While the 11 3pm kick-offs are all in the dying minutes, there’re one more FA Cup fourth round encounter to be decided this evening — and it’s a big one.

Anfield hosts Liverpool v West Ham and kick-off is just 40 minutes away.

Team news is here and there are several changes on both teams.

LIVERPOOL: Mignolet, Clyne, Caulker, Lovren, Smith, Stewart, Allen (c), Brannagan, Ibe, Teixeira, Benteke.

WEST HAM: Randolph, Tomkins, Reid (c), Ogbonna, Cresswell, Obiang, Song, Kouyate, Moses, Payet, Valencia.

Simon Mignolet is the only player in the Liverpool team to keep his place from the XI that lined against Stoke City in midweek, while the Hammers make six changes including Ireland goalkeeper Darren Randolph in for Adrian.

This thunderbolt from Steven Gerrard made it 3-3 in injury-time before the Reds won out 3-1 on penalties.

This will be the third time the clubs have met this season, and it was the Hammers who won both league encounters to do a first double over Liverpool in 52 years.

How do you see this one going?

Poll Results:

Liverpool (417)
West Ham (221)

The teams are emerging from the tunnel so we’re moments away from kick-off.

WE’RE OFF – Liverpool in all red, West Ham wearing a black change strip.

Five minutes played with little to report. Brad Smith has been lively for Liverpool, while team-mate Cameron Brannigan has just sent a long range shot into the stands.

West Ham win a free-kick a good 40 yards out from goal and, with a cross into the box looking the most obvious choice, Dimitri Payet attempts to catch out Simon Mignolet but doesn’t get the execution right.

CHANCE! Creswell’s cross from the left makes its way to Valencia but the Ecuadorian striker gets his header all wrong.

Brannigan delivers a set-piece from deep and Benteke looks to latch onto it but is unable to make any contact, leaving Randolph to collect.

Moments later, Teixeira plays the Belgian striker through but Randolph is out off his line in a flash.

West Ham defender Tomkins is down receiving treatment after a clash of heads with Allen. There’s blood pouring from his head so there could be a Terry Butcher-style bandage on its way.

GREAT STOP! Brannigan tries his luck from distance but Randolph, who has looked sharp, gets a hand to tip it round the post.

Double enforced change for West Ham –  Dubliner Joey O’Brien is on for Tomkins, who hasn’t recovered, while Nikita Jelavic has also been introduced as a replacement for Kouyate.

More work for Randolph, who has to punch clear before being fouled by Allen.

O’Brien’s cross is cleared to the edge of the box and Obiang volleys just wide.

Three minutes of added time to play.

SECOND HALF – Here we go. Both teams setting up in the same way they finished the first 45 minutes.

Jelavic gets a glancing touch to West Ham’s free-kick and there’s a bit of confusion in the Liverpool box before the ball is eventually prodded away.

Replays on that incident show the ball actually hit Caulker’s arm. Howard Webb tells BT Sport that he thinks it should be a penalty, but I’m not so sure.

Oh dear. Clyne drives forward and cuts the ball back to captain for the night Allen, who leans back and skies his effort into Row Z.

Another save from Randolph. Teixeira receives possession 18 yards out and drills the ball at goal, where West Ham’s keeper makes a solid block.

That’s a bad miss by Benteke. Stewart sends a ball into the box and the striker has a clear chance to direct the ball on target but can’t adjust his feet quick enough.

Substitution – West Ham bring on Michail Antonio for Moses.

West Ham under real pressure here now and Randolph has pulled off three saves in quick succession to thwart Teixeira and Benteke.

He’s having a really good game.

Substitution -  Sheyi Ojo replaces Ibe for Liverpool.

There are West Ham claims for a penalty as Valencia goes down in the box but the referee signals to play on.

Another change – And it’s Liverpool who make it. Brannagan leaves the field with Jerome Sinclair introduced.

Just three minutes of added time to play.

It doesn’t look like we’re going to get a winner tonight.

FULL- TIME: Liverpool 0-0 West Ham

It ends scoreless and they’ll have to do it all again in a replay at Upton Park.
