LUIZ ADRIANO NETTED the third quickest hat-trick in Champions League history as Shakhtar Donetsk beat BATE Borisov 7-0 this evening.
The Brazilian joins Lionel Messi as only the second player to score five goals in a single game in the competition.
Luiz Adriano opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a penalty and required just 12 minutes to complete his hat-trick, before getting his fourth of the game four minutes later.
No player had ever scored four goals in the first half of a Champions League game, and Shakhtar became the first team ever to score six away from home in the first half in the competition.
Luiz Adriano then added his fifth to put Shakhtar 7-0 up with a penalty in the 82nd minute.
