But why?
Pro Era is a Brooklyn hip hop group. The group shared the image of a teenager, who looks exceptionally like Malia Obama, wearing one of their tshirts on their Instagram account.
The hullabaloo isn’t necessarily the tshirt itself, but rather how the image came to be in the public domain, and whether the teen in question is in fact president Barack Obama’s eldest daughter.
New York Magazine argues that the photo probably is Malia, citing physical similarities, ear piercings, and love for music.
Gawker got word from Pro Era that the image came to them via a mutual friend of Malia’s.
Hope the mutual friend had permission to share. Malia’s dad will go spare.
