The game was originally scheduled for Sunday 26 February but was postponed due to Manchester United’s progression to the EFL Cup final that day, a brace of goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic helping them claiming a thrilling victory against Southampton.

It’s now been rearranged for Thursday 27 April at 8pm, with the game at the Etihad Stadium to televised live on Sky Sports.

The novel Thursday night scheduling is also due to Manchester City’s FA Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal the previous Sunday, 23 April.

Manchester United face nine games in the month of April, with a two-legged Europa League tie with Belgian side Anderlecht pencilled in along with their commitments in England.

The Premier League confirmed the news this morning with other games also rearranged due to FA Cup commitments.

League leaders Chelsea will face Southampton on Tuesday 25 April, Arsenal will meet Leicester City on 26 April while Tottenham Hostpur are set to take on Crystal Palace that same night.
