Manhunt underway for escaped prisoner

Two men escaped but one has been recaptured.

A MANHUNT IS underway after two prisoners escaped from prison officers in Co Clare this afternoon.

One of the prisoners has since been recaptured, but the search is continuing for the second man.

It happened at around 3:15pm at Ennis District Court after the men were transported there from Limerick Prison.

The men are aged 18 and 22, the 22-year-old is still at large.

A spokesperson for The Irish Prison Services told TheJournal.ie that an investigation will be launched into the incident.
