Fellaini has 'no case to answer' over alleged spitting incident

The English FA looked at footage from the recent Manchester derby.

MANCHESTER UNITED MIDFIELDER Marouane Fellaini will not face any action from the English FA over an alleged spitting incident involving Pablo Zabaleta in the Manchester Derby last week.

The Belgian was pictured apparently spitting in an area of the field where Zabaleta lay prone. However, his club has now been informed that no further action will be taken.

A statement from the governing body said:

“After studying all the available footage the FA have decided there is no case to answer for Marouane Fellaini.”

The 26-year old faced the possibility of a three-game ban if he was charged.

Fellaini has struggled to make a positive impact for Manchester United since his £27.5 million move from Everton during last summer’s transfer window.
