Mayo fans reckon this may be the reason Sam Maguire has been missing so long

Preparations are ramping up in the west.

WHILE THE ALL-Ireland SHC final gripped the nation this past week, preparations for the football final are still in full swing down in Mayo.

A bunch of lads from the village of Bonniconlon, just outside Ballina, have gone Sam crazy and weighed in with this effort on their car. And they seem to think they know the reason for Sam Maguire’s long absence from the county.

Ruairi Lynch, Brendan McShane, Niall Egan and Alan Dempsey are the supporters behind the car’s transformation, and they have plan to kit the car out with a PA system and take Dublin by storm on All-Ireland final weekend.
