All Black Mils Muliaina charged with sexual assault by South Wales Police

The New Zealander will appear in Cardiff Magistrates Court in August.

EX-CONNACHT FULLBACK Mils Muliaina has been formally charged with sexual assault, South Wales Police confirmed today.

The 100-cap All Black was arrested in April in relation to an incident following Connacht’s Pro12 defeat away to Cardiff on 6 March.

The 34-year-old was bailed after agreeing to return for interview on 1 July and has now been formally charged.

“Mils Muliaina has been charged with sexual assault on a female aged 16 or over,” say South Wales Police.

“He is scheduled to appear at Cardiff Magistrates Court on August 7, 2015.”

The New Zealand Herald report that the fullback will plead not guilty to the charge, with his lawyer saying he “totally denied the allegation.”

Muliaina signed for Connacht last summer, but has agreed a move away from the Sportsground after signing a one-year deal with Zebre in Italy.
