Poll: Should the minimum wage be increased?

Siptu says yes. What do you think?

THE COUNTRY’S LARGEST trade union Siptu says that it will pursue a sharp rise in the minimum wage.

President of the union Jack O’Connor says they want a living wage of €11.45 an hour, up from €8.65.

Those opposed argue that the move will punish small businesses and make them uncompetitive. Those in favour say that it will make those in service and entry-level jobs able to live in urban centres.
