THE IRISH MORTGAGE Holders Organisation has made a submission to the Department of Finance that would see the state top up mortgages for borrowers who are deep in arrears.

David Hall, the CEO of the organisation told today’s Sunday Independent that the plan would save the state €100 million on emergency accommodation, but has been criticised by Fianna Fáil as “another bail out for the banks”.
