Here are the top 10 most read articles on TheJournal.ie in 2012

Stabbings at the Swedish House Mafia gig, Ireland’s copyright laws under threat, and topless Kate Middleton – these are the stories you read this year.

WE’RE NOT SURE what it says about our readers – or our stories – that no single news story dominates the list of the top ten most read articles on TheJournal.ie this year.

The stories that did make the list cover a broad range of areas. Several -  such as the opinion piece about how to put a family business online or 21 reasons to be happy in Ireland – were one-off pieces, unrelated to what was happening in the news. The vast majority, however, were major breaking news stories.

Many of the stories that did well were linked to from other websites or shared extensively through Facebook and Twitter. In the end, the most read story ended up getting more than 94,000 page views in total.
