THE SPOTLIGHT IS firmly on Gaelic football this weekend but it’s hurling that takes centre stage in midweek with the Munster U21 decider in Ennis.
Cusack Park on Wednesday night hosts the clash of Clare, who are chasing a third successive Munster crown at this level, and Cork who will be bidding for their first provincial title since 2007.
Then Croke Park will host four key showdowns over the August Bank Holiday weekend. There’s quarter-final places up for grabs in next Saturday’s Round 4B games.
Meath face Armagh with the winners meeting Ulster champions Donegal while Kildare and Monaghan battle it out for the right to take on Leinster kingpins Dublin.
Then on Sunday there’s quarter-final ties with Kerry, Galway, Cork and Mayo all in action.
There’s also ladies football action this weekend with the key clashes in Birr next Monday.
