'No Irish Water Tax' graffiti on New York building

It comes as thousands of anti-water charge protesters took to the streets across Ireland last weekend.

A GRAFFITI MESSAGE referring to Ireland’s water tax has appeared on a building in New York.

‘No Irish Water Tax’ has been written on a what appears to be two water towers on 37th Avenue in Flushing, Queens.

Dublin woman Roisin Kenna spotted the graffiti yesterday afternoon.  She told TheJournal.ie:

“It was one of the last places I thought I would see something like that. So many people would have walked passed and not glanced twice.

It’s good to know that the Irish in New York are protesting too.

Last weekend anti-water charge protests took place across the country just days before the deadline to register with Irish Water.

This isn’t the first time that support for the anti-water charge campaign has come from America. In December four activists from the Detroit Water Brigade traveled to Dublin to join in a mass protest and they also held rallies stateside in solidarity with those taking part in the Irish protests.
