Draft Night

Mock Draft 2.0: Here's who the experts think will be drafted in the first round next week

Will Carson Wentz or Jared Goff go first overall?

WE ARE NOW just over a week away from Draft night, and mock drafts across the NFL world are suddenly in flux after the Los Angeles Rams and Tennessee Titans pulled off a blockbuster trade that completely reshuffled the order of the first round.

The Rams now own the top pick in the draft while the Titans move down to 15th (they also got a bounty of picks later on in the draft).

The blockbuster trade means that the Rams are after a quarterback, but will it be Jared Goff or Carson Wentz? And whichever quarterback the Rams don’t pick, will he end up in Cleveland picking second.

The experts for our penultimate mock: SB Nation’s Dan Kadar; NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, Bucky Brooks, Lance Zierlein, Charles Davis, and Charley Casserly; CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco, Rob Rang, and Dane Brugler; and WalterFootball’s Charlie Campbell and Walter Cherepinsky.

N.B This piece was published before the Eagles traded up to No.2 pick in draft deal with the Browns.

Other possibilities: Jalen Ramsey (DB, Florida St.); Carson Wentz (QB, NDSU); Myles Jack (LB, UCLA); Laremy Tunsil (OT, Ole Miss)

Key expert quoteDavis: ”Could this pick be traded? Yes, that’s a possibility, and the Browns will be fielding plenty of calls of inquiry. But, if they keep it, they get a young man with excellent feet, who’s a fast, decisive decision maker in Goff. He will be ticked off that he’s not the No. 1 overall selection.”

No. 3 San Diego Chargers — Laremy Tunsil (OT)

Experts: 6 of 11

School: Ole Miss

Other possibilities: Jalen Ramsey (DB, Florida St.); DeForest Buckner (DE, Oregon)

Key expert quoteBrugler: ”With Tunsil available, the Chargers have a chance to help stabilize their offensive line or go after a stud on defense.”

No. 4 Dallas Cowboys — Joey Bosa (DE)

[image alt="" src="http://cdn.thejournal.ie/media/2016/04/nfl-combine-football-32-630x466.jpg" width="630" height="466" title="" class="aligncenter" /end]

[image alt="" src="http://cdn.thejournal.ie/media/2016/04/nfl-combine-football-34-630x420.jpg" width="630" height="420" title="" class="aligncenter" /end]

Other possibilities: Joey Bosa (DE, Ohio St.); Jared Goff (QB, Cal); Paxton Lynch (QB, Memphis); Myles Jack (LB, UCLA)

Key expert quoteBrooks: ”They take Stanley and put him at right tackle to help the team get back to being solid up front. Chip Kelly can figure out the quarterback situation with Blaine Gabbert and Colin Kaepernick.”

No. 8 Philadelphia Eagles — Ezekiel Elliott (RB)

[image alt="" src="http://cdn.thejournal.ie/media/2016/04/nfl-combine-football-35-630x491.jpg" width="630" height="491" title="" class="aligncenter" /end]

Other possibilities: Vernon Hargreaves III (CB, Florida); DeForest Buckner (DE, Oregon); Leonard Floyd (LB, Georgia); Kevin Dodd (DE, Clemson); Jack Conklin (OT, Michigan St.); Ronnie Stanley (OT, Notre Dame).

Key Expert Quote: Prisco: I will keep him here because it works. They need speed and he can fly. This makes way too much sense.

See how the rest of the first round will play out here.
